At reference 1, I reported the progress of our fraxinus excelsior f. diversifolia, forgetting to mention that the point of interest was that it was a sort of ash, in which connection one usually thinks of the distinctive, pinnately compound leaves. And, earlier in the year, of the distinctive black buds. Neither feature being present with this ash.
Progress in the ten days since then has been good, as this snap shows. Maybe all the rain has helped. Maybe we are, at last, on the move again. I have cut back the honeysuckle box a little, which should help a but, by way of a little more light.
