A tale of two Jamie's

With an order for Lincolnshire Poacher due any day now, I thought this morning to check out the Neal's Yard Dairy web site to check that all was well, or at least sufficiently well for my cheese to be sent on its way.

Turning up the story to be found at reference 1. With one of the Jamie's there being a cheesemaker, the other being a celebrity, and with it not always being clear which one is being referred to. But, in any event, a celebrity whom I have always found rather annoying and make a point of avoiding his television programmes and his restaurants (before they went under). I ought to add that celebrity chefs in general are a breed I do not care for - perhaps it is the drive, arrogance, temper tantrums and bad manners generally which seem to come with the territory - with this one's particular problem with me being his prominence.

That apart, it seems he has been doing good work to promote the consumption of British cheese during lockdown, good work which may well result in the survival of both artisan cheese makers and artisan cheese sellers. Which is good news.
