A spot of DIY

At least, just about. It did involve the bench, the bench hook, the square, the tape, the pencil, the saw, the jack plane, the spokeshave and the hammer. Much getting organised, much getting set up and much clearing up - if not that much actual action.

The objective was something to hold the hose in place while I watered the recently spiked patch of lawn. It also played to my fondness for rope, twine and string. A fondness which I have noticed in others, so presumably not that unusual. A something which is easily adjusted - by moving the fork, by moving the tail (after the fashion of a windmill) or by lowering the head.

First trial completely successful. We now wait until late afternoon, when hopefully the sun and heat will have gone from this part of the garden, to do the watering proper.
