Heron

A hopeful heron on patrol in the stream down Longmead Road. With the banks of the stream starting to sprout nicely after their recent spring mowing.

Not for the first time, impressed by how much smaller the heron seems in the snap than it did in real life. The result of the fish-eye lens in my telephone, or is something more complicated going on?

Just about a month since I last saw a heron, on the Great Pond on Epsom Common, noticed at reference 1.
