Cobbles

I mentioned cobbles in Manor Green Road a few weeks ago at reference 1. Cobbles which are now nearing completion, after what seems like some months in the making. One of several jobs in the vicinity proceeding on a rather stop-go basis, one assumes as bits of money come in to pay the workers, no longer prepared to work on credit.

As I recall, a layer of sub-base, followed by concrete one, followed by steel mesh, followed by concrete two, followed by cobbles bedded in concrete three. Must be a foot or more thick altogether, fit to stand a tank on or a jumbo jet on, never mind a Tesla or a Range Rover - of the former of which there is at least one in the area and of the latter of which there seem to be dozens. Very common car.

But as a show-off stunt, these cobbles are a bit discrete once they are finished. It may be what has been done next door, and when it is all finished off you would not think that there is so much going on under the hood, as it were. Perhaps this is true of the smaller cobbles at reference 1.
