Tree down

Large branch down at the bottom of Longmead Road this morning.

Some bracket fungus in the region of the tear, although the wood of the tear looks healthy enough, at least from a distance.

Not sure what sort of a tree it is, but current thinking is poplar or birch. Decided against lime or willow, having had Bing show me some leaves. Perhaps I will go and get a better picture than this one of leaf and twig.
