Not exactly a flood

Plenty of water coming down to the entrance to our soakaway on the back patio this morning, complete with interesting whirlpool effect, not visible in this snap.

Three small ponds merged into one slightly bigger pond.

Water washing down from higher up the garden into it. Some standing water.

Soakaway clearly coping for the moment. Perhaps the cleaning out noticed at reference 1 made all the difference.

Plenty of twigs large and small down, as many as I remember in one night, including one dead branch (from the oak tree next door) quite large enough to do something unpleasant if it hit one on the way down. Plenty of twigs large and small down on Manor Green Road and West Hill, including a birch tree which snapped off about eight feet from the ground. A tree which I remember as having been rather sickly looking in the heat of the summer.

PS: the concrete benching at the back of the garage looks rather better in this snap than it does in real life. Not my finest hour as a shuttering carpenter.
