Made the third journey back across the market place with these two, also from M&S.
On the way I wondered about the significance of the yellow tape on the handle of the one in front, including two copies of the rubric 'waste batch code'. No difficulty wheeling it though; it seemed to work OK.
However, on entry to the stack there was a problem and I was unable to chain to the one on top, there seeming to be something wrong with the lock on the trolley with the yellow tape. Do M&S simply bin any trolley which fails its MOT, as it were, not making any attempt to mend it? How did this trolley, having been condemned, get back into circulation in the car park across from the market place? Will the next customer be unable to separate these two trolleys and cause some confusion in the queue for trolleys?
Perhaps I should ask customer services if I can watch the CCTV coverage of the subsequent life of this particular trolley. CCTV coverage which, without having checked the positions of their cameras, I am reasonably confident exists.
