Sadly, this tree, on the corner of Ridgeway and Manor Green Road, possibly a coppiced ash, complete with a fine sphere of mistletoe, rather larger this morning that it is in this snap, has now been chopped down.
One of the tree men said that the base had been attacked by some fungus, but one wonders whether they were more interested in getting the work than in the health of the tree. Perhaps I malign them - and then again, perhaps not. Perhaps they take their standards from their favourite fat Tory.
Rather splendid snap from Google's Street View. Vintage March this year. Not sure that the mistletoe would have grown as much in half a year as the memory above suggests.
