From the same stable as No.33, but far enough away to be separately scorable. Another tree of unusual shape for a Wellingtonia. With the sun more behind the tree than behind me, not a very good shot, but the best that I could do on the day.
That said, while I think of the typical shape as being something like that at reference 2, looking through the record, I find that the shape varies a good deal, presumably with age, accidents of childhood and context. Also that the hunt for Wellingtonia has been going on for a bit more than a year now. Guessing the future, I expect that the count will obey some kind of inverse power law, perhaps decreasing a bit slower than the square root, year on year.
