This fine specimen was captured on north western edge of the housing estate which has replaced most of St. Ebba's hospital - a place from which higher class, interesting, metropolitan alcoholics occasionally sought refuge in TB of an afternoon. Set on the edge of a bank made from the spoil arising from levelling the site. A bank which is now home to a good variety of grass and weeds, pleasantly unmown. But the young trees which someone thought to plant on the top of the then brand new, unsettled bank have mostly died for lack of water. Perhaps the someone was not a gardener.
With this alternate view of the tree being provided by gmaps, dated May last year. The tastefully converted water tower just visible right. While in the foreground we have the comfortably wide dual use track, that is to say for both pedestrians and cycles, and very rarely busy enough for dual use to be uncomfortable. One of the better cycle tracks in the borough.
