It seems likely that there is going to be a great deal of surplus office space in the city for the next year or so, quite possibly for much longer. Some of it could no doubt be redeployed as housing, although with the collapse of service industries in London and the uncertainty hanging over universities in general and foreign students (particularly Chinese ones) in particular, the demand for inner city housing might not be what it was.
So the suggestion is that the Shard should be redeployed as a giant greenhouse for growing top grade cannabis. Run as a proper industrial operation with proper standards, hygiene, packaging and so forth. Maybe even run socially distanced tours. Thus providing a decent number of jobs for young people from London sink estates who might otherwise be on the streets. Thus securing the Metropolitan supply of the weed in question. The operators might even be able to pay the Arab owner some rent.
