Respectable?

I had thought that Jeremy Corbyn's brother Piers was a respectable weather forecaster, rather keen on sun spots, but who also sold weather forecasts to people like M&S who were very keen to know if it was going to rain next week so that they could stock up with umbrellas or strawberries accordingly. This on the authority of a one-time regular attender of TB.

It now seems that he is not so respectable after all, with a long record of political activism as well as some record of weather forecasting - and that he has now got himself arrested & handcuffed for protesting, in what looks like Hyde Park, in contravention of social distancing regulations. The DT alleges that the protesters allege that 'the pandemic was both a hoax and that it was caused by the new 5G internet masts'. In any event, it seems most unlikely to me that a staid and respectable company like M&S would buy anything from the company responsible for reference 2.

I also remember that the former scientific director of the Meteorological Office explained to us at the Royal Institution that the sun spots he was so keen on were not what he cracked them up to be. See reference 3.
