Piano 35

The No.1 piano at Southwark Cathedral, a Blüthner concert grand, possibly borrowed for a concert that very evening - the instrument being tuned when I arrived. Roped off, so I could not actually touch it, but I did get to speak to the pianist, Warren Mailley-Smith, so I thought it reasonable to score. Unfortunately, I forget to ask him why he had this particular instrument. Did Southwark have a deal with Blüthner? Did he?

My record of the various Chopin concerts he gave at Smith Square, back in 2015-2016, does not say anything about the instrument he used there, it being some years before I started collecting pianos, but I include a sample from my record at reference 3.

The fourth Blüthner and probabaly the grandest, with the next grandest being the one in Fulham, noticed at reference 1.
