Fake 89

The Christmas Grotto at Polesden Lacey featured a large  number of candles, large and small, all fake. Which is perhaps just as well from a risk point of view, with risk assessments being all the rage these day, cropping up in all kinds of surprising places.

But if they are powered by batteries, as seems likely, presumably somebody has to go round at close of play and turn them all off. A job which might take a little while.

PS: as it happens, the second portrait of a lady of colour in as many weeks. But, guessing, not as old as that at reference 1.
