I have just been told about an annual competition run by the New York Times for lovers of words (lexophiles) to see who can compose the best bit of text along the lines of 'When you get a bladder infection, urine trouble', 'When chemists die, they barium' or 'I stayed up all night to see where the sun went, and then it dawned on me'.
As something of a lexophile myself, I thought to follow up. Curiously, the New York Times website (reference 3) denies any knowledge of any such thing, but the Kentucky Press Association (references 1 and 2) knows all about it.
