Series 3, Episode XII

Polly had been thinking to get her friends to carry off a bit of the Sunday joint for a picnic down the bottom of the garden, using the fine new picnic table provided, as explained at reference 1. In the event, her mouth got the better of her and she decided instead to deliver an impromptu sermon on the evils of alcoholism. The trolls, whom nobody had seen drinking, had difficulty standing up for the duration, notwithstanding.

PS: I was reminded yesterday that discrete hip flasks used to be quite expensive in the days that you used to buy them in places like the place near the Duke of York steps where I bought my Laguiole picnic knife. A quality knife which kept its edge for far longer than any knife I had ever known before. A knife which did get the X-ray people on the Eurostar quite excited. Now to be had from the mail-order people at reference 2. A hip flask for which I felt the need in the course of yesterday afternoon, with the only fortification then available involving caffeine. Maybe time to have another look around. Tavistock pannier market?

Reference 3: https://www.farlows.co.uk/. Might well be the place in question, even if they no longer sell the knife in question.
