Beef two

This being the continuation of the culinary adventure which started at reference 1. Tied and guyed by 11:00, in time for my Sunday spin around Jubilee Way. At which point matters were slightly held up by BH wanting to finish cooking the dessert. So actually in the oven at 11:30, at 190°C.

Inspected at 13:15, but put back in again for a final 15 minutes, after which it was allowed to rest for a further 15. By turning the oven off, rather than removing it from the oven.

Taken with the customary boiled vegetables - that is to say brown rice, green cabbage and orange carrot - and what has become the customary Polerol from Waitrose, vintage of 2018 on this occasion.

The beef was absolutely spot-on. The best that I recall - so much so that enough beef was taken that there was need for neither Calvados nor Jameson.

The situation towards the end of the first shift. The crows' portion accumulating bottom left.

But not so much beef that we we could not manage a spot of dessert, involving last summer's blackberries, from hedges round about. BH took hers with cold yellow custard from a pot, much favoured by our elder granddaughter, who can still be thrown into a tizzy by talk of hot custard or blue custard.

The crows were fed at 14:20 but we did not notice any crow action until 15:10. A bit slow off their marks.

All followed by a clear victory at Scrabble, albeit in a low-scoring game.

Day 2, cold with more of the same vegetables. Freshly cooked, for the avoidance of doubt. Situation at close snapped above, with an interesting lump from the front having been tidied up when BH wasn't looking. Still tasting very good.

Day 3, actually Wednesday evening, getting towards the end, although the crows were still doing OK.

But, in the end, it did run to day 4, although it was padded out with delicacies like augmented bubble & squeak and left over, augmented macaroni cheese.

Here endeth the beef.
