Sunflowers

The seven sunflowers on the back patio. The sun reaches the ones on the left before the ones on the right. But maybe being tucked into the angle means more shelter and more warm, hence the plants getting bigger as you move from left to right.

Whereas the three on the bit of concrete by the small ponds, half way up the garden, get hardly any direct sun and are much smaller.

So far, very little in the way of attack by pests. On the other hand, in the sort of sun we have been getting in the past few days, before the rain kicked in, they do need to be watered every day. With the bottom leaves keeling over first if one forgets.
