Series 3, Episode XI

It being a mild and sunny afternoon yesterday, what has become a rare outing for Polly and her friends. With poor photography, as the photographer was shooting blind with the sun behind him; clearly time he got one of those black photographic hoods that photographers used to use a hundred years ago.

The runway down from the picnic table of reference 2 visible top right, in a previous life something to do with the garden shed that used to sit on what is now our back patio. The two trolls, Fire and Snowy, were being their usual naughty selves and had been left behind, having first been pushed off the picnic table.

The handsome yellow flowers of the variegated nettle described by Alamy as 'garden yellow archangel variegated Lamiastrum galeobdolon dead nettle' are out, but not such a big show as some years and are not visible in this snap, although there is a bit of leaf middle right. See reference 4 for last year: the hot lockdown.

The wine was from Pfaffenheim, as noticed at reference 3. Closed the day by ordering up some more, having been amused to read the sales of higher priced wines have been good during our various lockdowns: I am not the only person to have nudged the budget up a notch given that I can't go out for a drop now and then.
