Poor detailing

Most if not all of the benches noticed earlier in the month at reference 1 have now been installed in our expensively repaved market square.

Installation which to my mind is an example of poor detailing: the benches would have looked much better had there been some kind of a plinth between them and the bricks, perhaps just a length of six by two at each end, one under each pair of legs. Rather better but more expensive, set each bench on a rectangle of concrete, quite thick to give a good fixing for the bolts, but so contrived as to finish just a couple of inches above the level of the bricks. As it is, one has a standing invitation to passing, inebriated youth to heave the things out of the ground.
