Piano 39

Captured this afternoon in the margins of the Falcon, of Falcon Road, Clapham Junction. The second Monington & Weston piano that I have come across, the first having been noticed at reference 1. That one was an oak job, rather than the dark brown lacquer of this upright - lacquer covering who knows what. How long is it since it was played?

PS: in the late 1970's we knew a girl from Hoxton who told us about the pubs there, usually involving a piano and singalong (a primitive form of karaoke) on Sunday lunchtimes, with the piano player being treated to more beer than he could handle. Probably sushi bars or worse now.
