Piano 40

The grand piano in the concourse area of the Rose Theatre at Kingston. An area which presently includes a café open more or less all the time, not just when the theatre is in action.

My first piano from Grotrian-Steinweg, a famous, long established German piano maker. The original Herr Steinweg emigrated to the US at some point, where he morphed into Mr. Steinway and founded the manufacturer of concert pianos, now dominant in our part of the world.

Where did the Rose get their instrument from? A legacy from a theatre lover? Something to inquire about next time we are there.
