The shelf

Following the post just posted, a snap of the Maigret shelf in more or less its present condition, complete apart from one of the orange volumes, being read at the time of the snap. A snap which may be compared with that at reference 1.

The first three volumes from the left are from the other Simenon series, the one numbered with Arabic rather than Roman numerals. With the pleasantly scruffy memoir 'Je me souviens' marking the start of Maigret; an illustrated hardback from 1945, so perhaps a first edition. Perhaps the next volume to be read.

The other Simenon volumes are 1, 43 and 44, so the first and the last two - with 43 being what I take to be more memoir 'Quand J'Étais Vieux'. All very appropriate.
