What's in a name?

Earlier today I came across reference 1, and although, unusually, neither Bing nor Google offered a free copy of this paper - perhaps because it was published as a chapter in a book - both it and Mr. Twaddle do seem to exist. An unfortunate name for anyone, let alone a scientist!

The word's more usual meaning has, according to the bit of OED snapped left has been around for quite a long time, and possible antecedents for long before that, so there is no question of that meaning being derived from a present occupant of the name.

Further ramifications of my discovery of the non-retraction theorem.

PS: note the way that the fish-eye lens of my telephone bends the page, not flat but a good deal flatter than this snap would suggest.

Reference 1: The neurospora mycelium as a two-dimensional sheet of coupled circadian clocks - Winfree, A. T., Twaddle, G. M. - 1981.
