Presented as a nature photograph in yesterday's Guardian and said to be something to do with the K6 mountain in the Karakoram mountain range in Pakistan. From where I associated to the Everest of reference 1. Why on earth do people go camping in such awful looking places? Do they really all have death wishes?

From where I associated to Scott, when he finally arrived, telling his diary something about the South Pole being another truly awful place. And that was in mid-summer.

After that, reality checking took over, so I took a snap with my telephone and passed it on to Google image search. Which could not work out what it was, but could tell me that it was the house photograph of a finance and investment outfit called Fortress Family Office. Not so cuddly after all. See reference 2.
