Redwings

Following the post at reference 1, the redwings have been more or less absent from our garden, with blackbirds standing in on berry clearance duties. That is to say on the firethorn out back and the hawthorn out front. While tits do the yew over the fence, by the end of the garage.

Then this morning, we had a flock of brown birds on the firethorn, brown birds which in all probability were redwings, but which took off for the back of the garden when I appeared at the study window, took off before I could be sure of my tweet. They don't seem to understand that I am safely behind glass. Maybe they will be back later.

PS: BH soldiers on with the rather firm hawthorn jelly, taking the blame for its overcooking on herself. Getting near the end now.
