Imagery

The image above appears in a Word document of mine. I noticed this morning that when you scroll the image up and down the screen using single clicks of top or bottom chevron you get a curious flashing effect. The document as a whole appears to move up and down in a reasonably smooth way, but the chequerboard flashes.

We shall see if the same thing happens here.

Later: answer no, possibly because clicking on the scrolling chevron provided by Microsoft's Edge moves the page in much larger steps than the similar chevron provided by Word. But you can still get something like the flashing by pulling the scroll bar slowly up or down.

I remember now playing with something of the same sort before, but using horizontal or vertical bars rather than a chequerboard. Move horizontal bars left or right horizontally and nothing much happens, move them up or down vertically and you get the flashing. Maybe I will recover the context as the morning progresses.
