Two trolleys from Waitrose, captured again in the passage. Chained together, walked together and so scored as one. And with the market square resurfacing continuing, I was reminded that walking two can be a bit awkward on an uneven surface.
There is an open drain hole just visible behind the trolleys, about a foot wide and with running water about four feet down. Rather more visible in the previous post and first noticed at reference 1.
I thought that this hole was rather dangerous and that someone else should do something about it, not caring to drag the heavy steel sheet provided back over the hole myself, not being confident that my back would take the strain. I went round the front to find Ashmore Insurance gone, so I tried ringing up the number provided to find them mixed up with Osborne insurance. And with the bright sunlight obscuring the screen of my telephone, I did not manage to get through to a person to whom I could mention the matter. So left it, hoping for the best.
In the course of turning them up this morning at references 2 and 3, I find that Ashmore was started in 1988, just about the time we moved to Epsom, thirty years ago. Perhaps the founder-owner has now retired, passing his business over to the nearby Osborne people?
