Sorry to find a full page advertisement in yesterday's Guardian for a bunch of ambulance chasers, or to be more exact, bedsore chasers. An advertisement from a branch of our wonderful legal and financial services industry, in this case a dirty business in every sense of the word.
When will we learn that if we pay for our health service at third world rates, we are going to get third world problems, vis. bed sores? Something which can largely be avoided with plentiful and good quality nursing care of long stay and moribund patients. And suing the health service is hardly going to help with their financial problems.
Presumably the Guardian is free to decline to carry advertisements of this sort, but does not feel that it can afford to.
