Taking stock (arboreal)

I last noticed the sequoia trees which have been planted in Longmead Road a little more than a year ago, at reference 1, at which time I was a bit concerned about whether they were getting established.

I am pleased to be able to report that this one seems to be doing fine, and there is no reason to suppose that there is anything wrong with the other. Must check though.

There are quite a few of these trees dotted about the borough, probably more than a hundred years old and mostly looking pretty good. So the soil and climate are presumably OK. Let's hope the latter stays that way, the climate here in Epsom being a long way from the coastal mists of the Pacific coast of north America.
