Express prefab

I last noticed the express prefab being built by Baufritz in a road near us a couple of weeks ago, at reference 1. At that time, I wondered whether the build had ground to a halt for lack of money, dispute or default of purchaser.

So on the way back from a hot expedition to a more or less empty Hook Road Arena, we took another look. The ground in front of the prefab continues to be slowly cleared, with not much building debris at all now. There was even the appearance of a flower bed, so far without plants, never mind flowers. A mat path had been laid from sidewalk to front door so that the chaps doing the interior did not tramp dirt in. Which very much suggested that the interior was being done. That there was some action. Paint was being slapped on walls. Carpets on floors.

I then wondered about the back garden. Had a gardener been retained to keep it under control? Had the weeds taken over?

I continue to worry about Hook Road Arena. Have the council got it down for a housing estate? Maybe we will take a ceremonial picnic there some time soon to stake our claim. Complete with folding chairs, picnic blanket and hamper? The dregs of our bottle of Camping Gaz to brew up with?

PS: Bing tells me that Camping Gaz has been rebranded Campingaz. The branding people have been busy again. See reference 1.
