A new take on Brexit

At least, a new-to-me take on Brexit, from somewhere in the Financial Times.

To the effect that Brexit is really a good thing, because it means that the rest of Europe can get on with the European Project, with making Europe strong enough to stand up to China, the US and (if need be) Russia, without the UK blocking everything at every turn. Without inflicting our expensive lawyers on everybody else.

The UK can just sit it out on the edge of Europe, gradually sinking back to be the unimportant offshore island it once was. The same sort of route followed by Portugal when its glory days were over.
