Cheap land

Good quality field left looking for new owner. Any reasonable offer accepted.

I am reminded of a story from a National Trust hater from the west country about a farmer - or perhaps a golf course - which made a jolly good thing out of selling a new strip of land to the National Trust every few years so that they could pull their coastal path back a bit from the approaching cliff.

One of a number of striking images from a piece about coastal erosion in the Financial Times. This one captioned: England’s east coast is particularly at risk of erosion because it is made up of soft clay and sand © Christopher Furlong/Getty.
