Trolley 387

Yesterday was a blustery morning, and I was treated to the sight of a substantial tree coming down, across the road, at the back of Fair Green. Maybe a foot in diameter and snapped off about 3 metres from the ground. A sharp creaking noise, then the fall and one would have needed to be both quick and lucky had one been underneath.

Not many people in town and no trolleys, with those spotted the evening before having been cleared up or otherwise removed. Perhaps M&S have got around to sending one of their porters on a swing through the town centre, first thing each morning, to collect them up. Which would only take half an hour.

But this one turned up at the top of East Street, at the first of the turnings into Ewell Village. The furthest from home that I have picked up a trolley from Sainsbury's since the trolley noticed at reference 2. I found this one reasonably hard work to push back down East Street against the westerly wind. A two-seater, which I returned to the special needs section next to Timpson's of reference 1.

PS 1: Fair Green was a customary fairground, although it has not seen a fair for many years now. But I do remember that the last time people camped there, they left a most unpleasant mess. How can people live like that?

PS 2: Thames Water waste water tanker still pumping away at the beginning of East Street. Perhaps the lawyers are having fun - and making lots of money - deciding who is responsible for the repairs to drains needed.
