The Baufritz prefab around the back continues to make slow progress. At least it seems slow from the outside.
The two panels which had seen sitting on top of the container left for some months now have morphed into the substantial canopy over the front door. Not impressed by its suspension, which looks untidy to me: poor detailing.
The bales of insulating panels have vanished, presumably serving to line the basement.
The walls have turned white, having been some sort of pale pink before - assuming, that is, that the recorded colours are not some artefact of my telephone. But there is clearly another layer to go, as the white is just board of some sort, with plenty of screw heads and joints visible. So what is this further layer? Some kind of skim perhaps? I think that is what happened to the board clad house noticed at reference 2, still not finished.
The front right hand room has been promoted to site office, to which all visitors are enjoined to report.
Some useful looking timber in the right hand skip. Available for scroungers later?
No vans parked outside this morning, so presumably no action. Perhaps the special German plumbers have finished - and now it is the turn of the special German electricians, not available this week?
Now that it is taking shape, this new house looks significantly bigger than neighbouring houses. Are the owners, camped out in a flat somewhere nearby, hoping for Easter or are they looking at a summer move - which last would be about a year after the off, as noticed at reference 1?
Baufritz did not respond in a very positive way to my suggestion that they might like to show me around. The best they could do was that if I was a serious punter with serious money to spend, they might be able to arrange a visit somewhere, sometime. But they are not into investing in community relations, that is to say running tours for the curious. Perhaps they thought my suggestion was a bit of a cheek, given the number of objections to their planning application collected from people round about.
