When I fire up Microsoft's Edge browser in the morning, the default tab contains the news. As does any new tab you might open yourself. In which you get what seems to be a never ending supply of little panels, mostly in one of the three sizes shown in the screen scape above. Panels which contain a taster for something and which can be clicked on to get the full story.
I had the impression that a lot of the panels were either about sex or advertisements, and decided to have a count. With the result that of the first forty panels, 7 were about sex, 6 were advertisements, 5 were about the virus and 3 were about the EU. With the EU items generally negative items from the Daily Express: no opportunity missed to rub in what a useless, not to say dangerous, institution it was.
And along with the Daily Express, there was a lot of Independent, Hello and Daily Mail. Perhaps Microsoft has done a deal with these people.
And one of the advertisements was about buying industrial quantities of concrete. Something, somewhere has decided that I am very interested in the stuff. Perhaps the computer responsible has been taking a peek at reference 1.
All in all, not a very creditable operation for a serious company which, at reference 2, funds seriously good works. Perhaps later today I will take a more serious count.
