The brick scene

I have continued to browse in the skip reported at reference 1, with two more bricks yesterday (snapped above after cleaning) and two more today. With today's being clearly labelled as the work of the Dorking Brick Company.

Mortar soft and yellow, easy enough to scrap off. Hopefully it will dull down to gray as it weathers. And hopefully also all the lime in it will not kill of the jelly lichen which grows round about, although it has not done very well over the past year, either autumn 2019 or spring this year. See references 2 and 3.

The skip is now starting to fill up with ballast, earth and such like. So I am not hopeful that there will be many more bricks. But I will keep the old sheet used as a wrapper in one of the carriers on back of the bicycle for a few days yet, just in case.

Still no action on the bird feeder above.

And the company building, showcasing their products, was still there when Google last went by. Now quite possibly a listed building, one which looks as if it might well have been converted into a couple of houses.
