It's a funny old world

I was interested this afternoon to read of a Manchester footballer, earning £10,000,000 a year in salary alone, who is taking the government to task for not providing enough free school meals to poorer school-children. It would be even more interesting to see his tax return and to know what he does for charity with what is left.

PS: it seems that he has been playing serious football since he was a mere seven years of age. So someone whose whole life has been football - at which he is no doubt very good - but have all those years of devotion to the beautiful game - probably to the exclusion of pretty much everything else - left their mark elsewhere?
