Action light

As of 1430 Sunday, the action at our bird feeder, activated possibly Wednesday, as noticed at reference 1, that is to say getting on for four days ago, has been very light. Just the one great tit at around 0830 this morning, while we were washing out the porridge saucepan.

Porridge which, I might say, was livened up with jam, as mentioned at reference 2. Concerning which, we have recently learned at the Blenheim that real men, that is to say men born within 5 miles (or 8 kilometres) of the Babbity Bowser, take their's with salt, not jam.

PS 1: when I knew the Babbity Bowser, perhaps twenty years ago, it was a place where people, particularly old-style Labour Party people from nearby City Hall, drank to excess. Since then it seems to have become of haunt for foodies. While the snap from Google above does not ring any bells at all. But I am pretty sure it is the same place; famous in its day.

PS 2: Google maps fails to reveal the City Hall anywhere near the public house in question. The best I could do was the splendidly named Glasgow Necropolis, with which there is, no doubt, some overlap.

PS 3: I felt sure that I had noticed this establishment before. However, search tells me that all previous bowsers have been to do with watering trees. Perhaps more careful search is indicated.

PS 4: not presently sure about the apostrophe in their's. Yet another factlet to be chased down.
