A light frost last night seems to have brought a lot of small birds out this morning, with plenty of action at the bird feeder out back, visible from the study upstairs.

Including, in an adjacent bush, a confirmed sighting of a nuthatch at around 0720, local time, presently UTC. No doubt about it all on this occasion, unlike the last, doubted at reference 1.

PS: and by late morning, which is sunny, the top of the willow tree in the next door garden is alive with bees feeding on the flowers there. To which I was alerted by the steady buzzing to be heard at ground level.
