Horton Country Park

Horton Country Park big enough and quiet enough yesterday (Tuesday) morning for a little exercise to be reasonable, with this oak tree being the first thing to catch our attention. Nowhere suitable to stand where I would have got it all in.

One large patch of celandines in full, bright yellow flower.

Lots of twittering, quite a lot of action in the trees and bushes, just the one tweet of a small gold finch. Quite a lot of crows and magpies.

Quite a lot of horses in a large field, but sadly too small for the number involved. Lots of patches of mud around the edges, all the grass more or less eaten down to the ground. A common problem with suburban horse keepers, in this case the Equus Equestrian Centre - mainly a polo place for people with large accents.

Peered through the double fence into Hobbledown, where there were lots of alpacas to be seen, possibly confused with llamas. Further confusion from a couple of what might have been zebus, otherwise humped cows with big curved horns, but which are not listed at reference 1. Eventually clocked the nilgais first noticed at reference 2. No confusion there.
