The end of the road

We bought our front room curtains from Bentalls of Kingston near thirty years ago and they have finally succumbed to sun rot. So, sadly, they have to go. Snapped left for the record.

Bentalls, having been rebranded as Fenwicks, stopped doing curtains a long time ago and, anyway, Kingston is a long way away these days. So off the Fabric World at the bottom of West Hill, which turned out to have an entirely satisfactory collection of such things. They could not simply replace what we had, but we were able to turn up something which will do, hopefully just as well.

Along the way we learned that if you are squeamish about having a cheetah skin draped over your sofa, or whatever, you can have a cow skin printed with a cheetah pattern. A sort of half way house.
