On the north side of Cavendish Square. Not scored as a fake because it is neo-classical, rather because they were too lazy or too mean to carry the fake around the corner.
Notice also all the bricked up windows, a wheeze to avoid paying the window tax of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, a tax which had been thought by its inventors to be easy to assess and collect. A wheeze which reminds us that there is nothing new about rich people going to a lot of trouble to avoid paying tax.
One wonders about the wives. Were they up for not paying tax, or were they more annoyed about the damage done to their schemes of interior decoration and illumination?
One wonders also whether the neo-classical front was stuck onto some older building. My guess is not.
