Mixed messages

I was struck this morning by the cover of the DT's take on what we should be eating for Easter. With its ever so cuddly lamb perched on top of a hamper from Harrods, waiting for its turn on the butcher's block before ending up as our roast on Easter Sunday. With mint sauce and gravy.

A Paschal lamb which, perhaps, nicely encapsulates our complicated, not to say ambivalent, attitudes to the various things that we have sacrificed to our various gods over the years.
