Trolley 368

Two trolleys captured in Station Approach proper, across the road from the station itself and under the watchful eye of the tier two taxi drivers waiting for their turn on tier one.

One from the M&S food hall and one from Waitrose, complete with my next month's warfarin supply. Plus other stuff. Warfarin which was ordered from a doctor on one side of the food hall, collected from a chemist - Lloyd's - on the other side, but actually packed in something called the 'Ruislip PAS Hub' - and presumably moved to Epsom by a daily van service. According to somewhere in the otherwise inaccessible reference 2: 'Opportunity: Celesio UK, a pioneering provider of integrated healthcare services have an exciting opportunity for a Hub Operations Manager to join our innovative Prescription Assembly Solution Hub operation in Ruislip ... The successful applicant will be based in our new state-of-the-art PAS hub in AAH Ruislip, which is a fully automated system for assembling prescriptions for our customers & patients that is changing the landscape of the Pharmacy Industry. As the Hub Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing all Prescription Assembly Solution (PAS) Hub operations, ensuring service and performance levels are achieved within defined operational objectives and managing the financial budget ...'. The salary is described as being competitive. All wrapped up in the manner of human resources professionals everywhere - and you even get the headings 'key skills' and 'behaviours'. And to think that I remember the days when chaps in pharmacies wielded pestles and mortars.

The two trolleys are only approximately the same size, but near enough that the M&S fitted inside Waitrose. I did not think to check whether they both come from Wanzl, the big supplier of quality trolleys in these parts, but they do look very similar, and I dare say that big customers like M&S and Waitrose can have their bit of customisation without adding much to the unit cost.

According to a literal reading of the rules, they could be scored as two, as while they were captured in one place at one time, they were delivered to two places. However, given that the two places were only maybe 30 metres apart, I thought it more sporting to settle for one.

PS: reference 3 reminds me that the Lloyd's Pharmacy and John, Bell & Croyden are now part of one big happy family. See reference 4.
