A rather mangy fox on our extension roof, around 1120 this Sunday morning. Climbed up through the leylandii behind and went back down, in due course, the same way. Same route as the cats, although this is the first time I have had evidence of climbing - as opposed to jumping - foxes.
Note pigeon heading out west, just below the (Siamese) twinned young oak trees right.
Note also the fox looking at the camera. He - or she - must have been aware of activity of some kind behind the window, and, quite properly, was trying to work out what it might be. Was it a dinner or a threat? Can they spot a pair of eyes looking their way under almost any conditions? An ability which is universally important to animals with proper eyes. Worth a bit of gene driven, hard coding in the brain?
