Grape Tree figs

Figs have been a bit of a problem during lockdown. Those at reference 2 seem to have vanished from Grape Tree. While those at reference 1 were not very satisfying in the end. Subsequent to that we got Waitrose to deliver some fairly dry figs, quite good, but dear in that we had to make the order up with Calvados before they would deliver it.

Then a few days ago I tried to get some more from Waitrose but that didn't work very well. Mainly because when their web site is busy, as it was, with the second lock-down just having been announced, one often seems to end up with one's grocery order in one trolley and one's booze order in another, seemingly with no way of joining the two together into one click-and-collect slot. With the grocery not qualifying on its own, as above.

Luckily, the next day I called in Grape Tree for some more brick dates, and in addition to the dates (which only very rarely vanish from their shelves) they had some new seasons figs in. Small round ones, very like those at reference 2. Quite a big bag for something less than a fiver or so. Very happy with them so far.
