The long arm of the Google

BH does not use her email account very much, so Google may struggle to come up with promising advertisements for her. Not all that much to go on, except perhaps her sex. Maybe they know her age.

So this morning she gets an advertisement from a car hire operation in Tenerife. An operation which she may have used once or twice, getting on for twenty years ago now. Someone must keep very good records.

And while one might deplore suggesting that she should sit in an aeroplane for four hours at this pandemical time, at least riding in one's own hire car when she gets there is a healthier option than riding in a bus or a coach. I wonder how the Canaries and the Azores are getting on? On the one hand, they are islands and safe to that extent. On the other, they are both heavily dependant on tourists to maintain them in the style which they have got used to. The days when lots of poor peasants from both places used to travel in steerage across the Atlantic in search of a better living in the sugar, the cotton and the tobacco fields of the Americas are long gone.
