Prompted by the FT, I have just taken a look at the (content policy) oversight board which Facebook is setting up, that is to say at the glossy website that is reference 1.
At first glance, it all looks terribly worthy, with an impressively diverse collection of board members. It will be interesting to see how it works out in practise. Will they, working with Facebook Central, be able to roll back the tide of evil? Rubbish, I guess, we have to tolerate in the name of free speech.
Having been impressed by Alan Rusbridger earlier in the year (see reference 2), I was interested to see that he has joined up - following Nick Clegg who joined Facebook Central after a bad election in 2018 - with the Sun offering: '... The ex-Lib Dem boss will move to California for a job said to pay about £1million a year but one insiders say could top £7million with bonuses and stock options...'.
Not heard much from him since. The new board members are presumably part-time, but will we hear more of Rusbridger?
